Football club "Ahal" has parted ways with head coach Velsakhet Ovezov. Eziz Annamukhammedov, who previously coached the club's reserves, has been appointed the team's new coach, according to international sports journalist Alexander Troitsky.

Under Ovezov's leadership, “Ahal” twice won silver in the Turkmenistan Championship and reached the final of the National Cup in the last two seasons. In the current 2024/25 AFC Champions League II, the team overcame the playoffs, defeating Tajikistan's “Regar-TadAZ”, and advanced to the group stage.

Ovezov is 43 years old. He has served as head coach of “Ahal” since July 2024, having previously served as the team's assistant coach.
