Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law toughening penalties for threats against healthcare workers. This was announced by the head of state's press service.
According to the new regulations, the following penalties are prescribed for this offense:
A fine of 200 to 500 monthly calculation indices (MCIs);
correctional labor for up to 300 hours;
community service for up to 300 hours;
imprisonment for up to two years.
The adoption of the law is aimed at strengthening the legal protection of medical personnel in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
