Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Croatia and Sri Lanka, during which the parties discussed bilateral cooperation and the organization of an international forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In a conversation with Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Employment, and Tourism, Vijith Heratha, the two sides discussed the development of bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest. The effectiveness of partnership within international organizations, particularly the UN, was emphasized.
The ministers placed particular emphasis on an important event to be held in Turkmenistan on December 12 of this year – an international forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, the International Year of Peace and Trust, and International Neutrality Day.
During a conversation with Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić-Radman, the parties discussed a number of cooperation issues both bilaterally and within multilateral structures, in particular the EU and the UN.
The constructive nature of Grlić-Radman's visit to Ashgabat in October of this year was noted, during which the Croatian Foreign Minister was received by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The parties also discussed issues related to organizing an international forum on December 12, 2025, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
