On the sidelines of the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference held in Beijing, a meeting was held between the Turkmen delegation and the director of the Chinese Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC).
According to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of Chinese language teaching in Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to teacher training and professional development, continuing the successful practice of attracting teachers from China, and expanding the formats of educational cooperation.
During the talks, such forms of cooperation as sending native-speaking teachers to Turkmen universities, developing Chinese language centers and providing methodological support, conducting educational camps and international youth programs, providing scholarships for studying Chinese and studying at Chinese universities, and more were discussed.
The Turkmen side confirmed its interest in expanding joint projects, including internships, online courses, and exchanges involving Chinese experts. The importance of the work done to implement the memorandums signed with a number of Turkmen universities in 2023 was particularly noted.
