Turkmenistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed an agreement to finance the construction of a secondary medical school in Ashgabat. The document was signed during ADB President Masato Kanda's visit to Ashgabat, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The agreement provides for funding for the construction of a medical college that will train mid-level specialists for the country's healthcare system.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the ADB signed a document on cooperation in the area of technical support. The agreement aims to develop the capacity of the national healthcare system.
Earlier, at a meeting with the head of the ADB, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the country is placing special emphasis on improving the quality of medical services, building modern medical centers, and improving the qualifications of doctors.

The Asian Development Bank has been cooperating with Turkmenistan for over 25 years. During this time, the bank has participated in financing projects in the power industry, infrastructure, transport, and other sectors of the economy.
