The Head of the Turkmen Mission to the European Union, Sapar Palvanov, held talks in Brussels with Christian Terhes, a member of the European Parliament from Romania and Vice-Chairman of the European Parliament's Budget Control Committee.
The parties discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the EU and Turkmenistan, as well as interaction between the parliaments of both sides.
In order to expand interparliamentary dialogue, preparations for holding the next round of this dialogue in Brussels in March of next year were discussed.
Practical and technical aspects of enhancing interregional cooperation were discussed separately. The ambassador emphasized that Turkmenistan is actively investing in infrastructure projects, such as the recent opening of the bridge across the Gulf of Garabogaz, which will significantly increase cargo traffic across the Caspian Sea to Europe.
In the context of energy cooperation, the Turkmen diplomat spoke in detail about the diversification of Turkmenistan's energy policy, noting the strategic importance of the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and develop practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
