The TAPI gas pipeline will create thousands of jobs and ensure energy security

The TAPI (Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India) gas pipeline project is not only an energy pipeline but also a symbol of cooperation and mutually beneficial economic relations in the region. This was stated by Afghan Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar at a ceremony marking the start of construction of the next stage of the pipeline along the Serhetabat–Herat route, according to the State News Agency  of Turkmenistan.

"This project is not only a gas pipeline, but also a symbol of cooperation, mutually beneficial economic relations, and efforts aimed at common well-being," Baradar noted.

According to him, the TAPI project, which has geopolitical and geoeconomic significance, is currently being successfully implemented. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this initiative serves as a bridge for building trust between countries in the region and plays a vital role in ensuring energy security and stability.

Baradar noted that the pipeline's implementation will contribute to the prosperity of the participating countries and the creation of thousands of jobs. The Afghan side views the TAPI project not only from an economic perspective but also as an important step in developing bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan, he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the necessary infrastructure will be built along the gas pipeline route, including a Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power line, railways and roads, and logistics centers. This will help create a unified system of trade and economic ties and energy cooperation in the region.

Baradar emphasized that Afghan-Turkmen relations are based on friendship and brotherhood, shared cultural and spiritual values. On behalf of the Afghan side, he expressed gratitude to the Turkmen leadership for its support in developing joint cooperation.
