More than 56 thousand students from Turkmenistan are studying at Russian higher education institutions. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev at a meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
"More than 56 thousand students from Turkmenistan are studying at higher education institutions in the Russian Federation. In this context, I would like to express my gratitude to the Russian government for providing a quota for applicants from Turkmenistan," said Atagulyev.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted the successful work of the Pushkin Turkmen-Russian School in Ashgabat, which has over 1,8 thousand students. He noted that dozens of secondary schools in Turkmenistan offer instruction in Russian, and Russian is taught in all public schools across the country.
Atagulyev also mentioned the Magtymguly Secondary School, built in the Astrakhan Region, where the Turkmen language is taught. "We highly appreciate the steps taken to further expand cooperation in this area," he emphasized.
