On October 11, Turkmenistan's Minister of Education, J. Gurbangeldyev, met with the Executive Director of the National Library of the State of Qatar, Tan Huism. This was reported on the Ministry's website.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the international exhibition and scientific conference "Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of the Revival of a New Era of a Sovereign State" in Ashgabat.
The parties noted the presence of valuable historical, cultural, and literary monuments, rooted in the ancient Turkmen and Qatari peoples, drawing attention to the fact that extensive work is being carried out in Turkmenistan and Qatar to preserve the material and spiritual heritage, perpetuate national traditions and values, and develop librarianship.
Given that the National Library of the State of Qatar carefully preserves ancient and valuable publications belonging to the Turkic world and the Turkmen people, Minister J. Gurbangeldyev expressed the desire to ensure access to them for higher educational institutions in Turkmenistan through modern digital technologies.
The Turkmen side's proposal was warmly supported by the Qatari delegation, which expressed its readiness for close cooperation.
The parties agreed to provide all possible support within their respective mandates to further develop cooperation between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar.
