Yazmyrat Atamyradov, a member of the Halk Maslahaty Council of Elders and Honorary Elder of the People, proposed halting increases in wages, pensions, state benefits, and stipends in Turkmenistan. He made this statement at a meeting of the country's highest representative body at the Maslahat Köşgi Palace in Ashgabat, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Speaking at a national forum held ahead of Turkmenistan's 34th anniversary of independence, Atamyradov noted the country's achievements in the social sphere. He noted that thanks to the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, thousands of families have received new housing and jobs have been created in the city of Arkadag and modern settlements in the Ahal and Dashoguz provinces.
"No other country in the world offers such benefits to people, and today every family receives everything they need," the elder stated, emphasizing that the people's social and living conditions have reached a high level.
In this regard, Atamyradov proposed using the funds saved by forgoing the increases for further development of the country and other important areas. National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressed gratitude for the speech and recommendations.
The meeting of the highest representative body was attended by deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, members of the Mejlis, heads of ministries and departments, velayat governors, representatives of the public and other officials.
