Turkmenistan's Minister of Education, J. Gurbangeldyev, held talks with Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan, Hiroshi Sasaki, to discuss long-term bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, it was noted that interest in learning Japanese is growing in Turkmenistan's educational institutions, with several thousand Turkmen schoolchildren and students currently enthusiastically studying the language. This was reported on the ministry's website.
The parties discussed planned joint educational programs on green energy in the near future, as well as improving the professional training of teachers and students in the field of exact sciences through the JICA and MEXT programs.
The participation of Japanese scientists in the international exhibition and scientific conference "Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of the Revival of a New Sovereign State," which will be held in Ashgabat from October 10 to 12 of this year, was also discussed.
