On July 30, the head of the UN Resident Coordinator's office in Turkmenistan, Selbi Hanova, held a meeting with participants of the UNICEF Youth Eco-camp to discuss the recent address of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres "A Moment of Opportunity: Accelerating the Dawn of Clean Energy" on climate change.
The address stressed that the world is on the threshold of a historic transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

The young participants of the meeting, after watching a video speech by the UN Secretary General, discussed how each person can contribute to preserving the planet.
"After watching the UN Secretary General's address, I realized how serious the climate situation is. Even small steps by young people can change the future for the better," said Eco-camp participant Resul Tayjanov.
The Secretary-General noted that despite challenging geopolitical and environmental conditions, the clean energy revolution has already begun. In 2024, clean energy investments will reach 2 trillion USD, surpassing investments in fossil fuels, demonstrating the efficiency and affordability of renewable sources.
The youth expressed their willingness to promote sustainable practices and support the transition to a cleaner and fairer energy future, the UN website reports.
