Princess of Wales Kate Middleton will not participate in any public events for the rest of the year as she focuses on her cancer treatment, The Daily Beast reports.
Citing an unnamed source, the publication reports that Kate has no performances scheduled for the rest of the year. “I’m told Kate’s diary is empty for this year,” the source said. “Nothing is planned. She may not appear in public at all until the end of the year.”
The source added that the princess is now prioritizing her mental well-being and trying to avoid stress.
In March of this year, Kate underwent abdominal surgery. It was reported that she might return to her duties after Easter, but this did not happen.
Kate’s diagnosis and the exact type of cancer she is battling have not been disclosed.
This is not the first time Kate has canceled public appearances due to health issues. In 2018, she missed a number of events due to severe morning sickness while pregnant with her third child, Prince Louis.
Prince William is expected to take on more royal duties in his wife’s absence.
