1. 4 new mosques opened in the regions of Turkmenistan on the eve of the sacred Night of Omnipotence. The openings were held in the villages of Hazar in the city of Balkanabat, Balkan velayat, Ruhubelent of the Ruhubelent etrap of Dashoguz velayat, Dovletli of the Hojambaz etrap of Lebap velayat, as well as Shatlyk of the Sakarchaga etrap of Mary velayat.
2. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and other relevant leaders. Issues related to the current state of bilateral Turkmen-Tajik cooperation and its prospects were discussed. Speaking about the great potential for mutually beneficial partnership, the need to make full use of existing opportunities was emphasized.
4. On the second day of his official visit to Tajikistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people met with Emomali Rahmon. It was noted at the meeting that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan is developing on the basis of centuries-old traditions of good neighborliness, common history, culture, spiritual and social values. Having such a solid foundation, countries confidently form and implement joint partnership plans and conduct constructive dialogue on current issues of the regional and international agenda.
5. Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan will take part in the annual international exhibition of consumer goods in Bucharest from May 16 to 19. The exhibition platform will present such areas as textiles, clothing, footwear, construction equipment, heating equipment, plumbing, cosmetics, perfumes, toys, and food. Turkmen businessmen will have the opportunity to meet potential clients and partners and conclude new contracts.
6. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his compatriots on World Health Day. “In our country, World Health Day occupies a special place as a significant event that affirms the triumph of friendship and peace, sports and humanism, the unity and cohesion of the people. That is why we, together with the international community, celebrate this holiday with great enthusiasm on these warm spring days”, - the head of state’s message says.

7. Researchers from the University of California have proven that even the most advanced AI models, such as ChatGPT, cannot match the intelligence and creativity of children. As part of the experiment, a group of children aged 3 to 5 years, as well as several adults, competed with the ChatGPT chat bot in solving problems that required non-standard use of various objects. Children and adults easily coped with the tasks, finding non-trivial but functional solutions, using objects for indirect purposes. This suggests that humans, unlike AI, are capable of abstract thinking, allowing them to see the hidden capabilities of objects.
8. Russian tourists flying to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur increasingly prefer Turkmenistan Airlines to alternative air carriers. By the end of March this year, the occupancy rate of such flights exceeded 90%. This step provides greater flexibility for Russian travelers and opens up additional prospects.

9. The 6th round of the Turkmenistan Major Football League starts today. The program of the day will open with the matches “Shagadam” - “Energetik” and “Nebitchi” - “Ahal”. Both matches will begin at 16:00. At 16:30, spectators will see the capital's derby, in which “Altyn Asyr” and “Ashgabat” will meet. At 17:00 the starting whistle will sound at the “Arkadag” stadium, where the leader of the Turkmenistan championship will host “Kopetdag”. After five rounds, “Arkadag” is in first place in the Major League standings with 12 points. Three teams are in second place with 9 points – “Shagadam”, “Ahal” and “Merv”.
10. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed a message to the athletes of the national teams of Turkmenistan, the winners of international competitions who successfully demonstrated themselves in January–April 2024. The head of state also noted that appropriate work is currently underway to prepare athletes of the national teams of Turkmenistan on an integrated basis for the Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games, which will be held in Paris in 2024, as well as to create all the conditions for this.
