Uzbekistan has abolished the procedure for mandatory declaration of jewelry by individuals if their value does not exceed 100 million soums (just over 8000 USD), reports Sputnik Uzbekistan.
Corresponding changes to the legislation were made by decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated October 31, 2023.
According to the document, individuals can export finished jewelry worth up to 100 million soums from the customs territory of Uzbekistan without filling out a passenger customs declaration, and for an amount of 100 million soums or more - on the basis of a passenger customs declaration, the source notes.
Previously, the export of finished jewelry worth more than 5 thousand USD was possible only with a customs declaration.
