1. Ashgabat hosted a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the regional representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for Central Asia Richard Komenda. The Turkmen side expressed interest in participating in a number of significant UN events, such as the implementation of the Call of the UN Secretary General to act in the interests of human rights, the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Program of Action.

2. The Ready4Trade Central Asia project announces that registration is open for the free training program “Export Management”, which will be held from November 21 to 25 in Ashgabat at the “Archabil” hotel. Training will be held in the format of online and offline sessions throughout the day.

3. The State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan hosted a national tour of the Central Asian Spelling bee competition, aimed at identifying skills in the correct pronunciation of letters in order to successfully cope with the difficulties of English spelling. According to the rules of the competition, the participants spelled the words, reproducing their written form and transcription. At the final stage of the competition, the “four” of the best students were determined, who will represent Turkmenistan in the finals of the Spelling bee competition in Tashkent.

4. A memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed on November 8 by the national barcode organization and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. This document is aimed at developing the export potential of Turkmen producers, their unimpeded access to world markets. Within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum, joint events are envisaged to help increase the knowledge and awareness of Turkmen entrepreneurs about the rules of international trade.

5. The host of the next 95th Academy Awards ceremony on March 12-13, 2023 will be the comedian actor Jimmy Kimmel. The actor will host the “Oscars” for the third time. “Being invited to host the “Oscars” is either a great honor or a trap. 6. The Bible, in which the hero of the film “The Shawshank Redemption” kept a geological hammer, was sold at auction for 387,5 thousand pounds sterling or 440 thousand USD. The Bible is one of the most important elements of the plot of the film - the main character, Andy Dufresne, hid a geological hammer in its pages, with the help of which, after more than 20 years of imprisonment, he escaped from prison.

7. The Russian team will play a friendly match against the team of Uzbekistan. The meeting will be held on November 20 in Tashkent at the “Pakhtakor” Central Stadium. The beginning is at 17:00 Ashgabat time. Previously, the teams of Russia and Uzbekistan have never met at the level of the national teams. In the FIFA ranking, the Russian team ranks 33rd, and the Uzbekistan team is 77th.

8. The results of the Belt Wrestling World Cup, which was held in Kazan, have been summed up. Athletes from Turkmenistan won 12 medals - two gold, two silver and eight bronze. Representatives of 33 countries participated in the competitions, which were held at the “Ak Bars” Martial Arts Palace.

As the result of the tournament the Russian team took first place in the team standings. The team of Uzbekistan took second, and Turkmenistan - third.
