The possibility of opening transport and logistics routes and establishing cooperation between the port of Turkmenbashi with the ports of Dubai and Abu Dhabi was discussed between the Vice-Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Al-Mazrui on the sidelines of the International Conference in Avaza. Moreover, the integration of the Turkmen port into the world system of seaports was discussed.
As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports, also the preparation of the organization of an official visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the UAE at the invitation of President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was reviewed.
During the talks the parties considered the promotion of projects in the gas chemical, financial and transport sectors in Turkmenistan with the participation of the UAE. In addition, there were talks regarding the possibilities of cooperation in the textile industry, in the field of export of Turkmen goods to the markets of the UAE and Africa.
The Parties paid attention was paid to the issues of water desalination, desertification and environmental protection.
