“KAMAZ” is not only a heavy vehicle – the famous automotive industry produces traction trucks, dump trucks, buses and even electro buses. The company follows the world’s trend for the development of “green” vehicles and the first in Russia arranged the production of electric buses.

Today, the “KAMAZ-6282” electric bus, developed according to the technical task of “Mosgortrans”, is one of the highest–tech and environmentally friendly products of the company. Three years ago, “KAMAZ” started its serial production and opened an electric bus system in Moscow. Now “KAMAZ” electric buses form the basis of eco-friendly transport in the Russian capital and are being systematically tested in other regions of the Russian Federation.

The KAMAZ-6282 electric bus is equipped with 3 doors and accommodates up to 85 passengers. The cabin has 33 plastic, comfortable seats, there are places for wheelchairs, and the low level of floor simplifies loading and unloading of the passengers, including those with limited mobility. This model uses the main components of traction electrical equipment, including an electric bridge and lithium-titanium batteries with an energy capacity of 80 kW with a maximum power reserve of 70 km. Moreover, the battery life is up to 20,000 cycles.

These types of transport distinguished with high level of comfort: separate climate-control system, thermal curtains in the doors, media screens and USB connectors for charging mobile devices. An important difference from the bus is that the electric bus moves almost soundless, while without harmful emissions into the atmosphere. It needs to be charged at ultra-fast charging stations, which are located at the final stops. The fast charging time of the electric bus is 24 minutes from 0 to 100%.

No one discharges accumulators completely – on average 40-50% of the consumption is allowed to recharge. In this case, 6-10 minutes are enough to the experienced driver to reach one hundred percent battery charge again. Weather conditions don’t influence this process. Moreover, the cars are equipped with video surveillance and satellite navigation. An unconditional advantage of the transfer to the electric transport is the preservation and improvement of the entire city’s ecosystem.
