From June 1, 2021, passenger trains will resume in Turkmenistan on the directions Turkmenabat - Gazojak - Turkmenabat, Turkmenabat - Amyderya - Turkmenabat and Mary - Serhetabat - Mary. Trains on these routes will run once a week in each direction.
As reported on the official website of “Demiryollary” OJSC, the work of trains will resume in test mode, subject to compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements.
As a reminder, in March, rail passenger traffic resumed on the route: Ashgabat - Turkmenabat - Ashgabat, with a stop in the city of Mary. In April, the movement of passenger trains on the Ashgabat - Dashoguz - Ashgabat route was restored.
The report notes that the suspension of train traffic on other routes is being extended until July 1, 2021.
We remind you that the movement of passenger trains was suspended on July 16, 2020 in order to prevent infectious diseases.
