On July 15, the rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov met with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkmenistan in Kazan Atadurdy Bayramov, the press service of the rector of KFU reports.

The purpose of the meeting is to expand partnership with scientific and educational centers of Turkmenistan in the field of joint research, events, and implementation of joint educational programs.

The parties discussed a number of issues, including the following initiatives proposed by Kazan University:

• increase the number of citizens of Turkmenistan studying in different programs of KFU;
• create a training and methodological Center of the KFU in Ashgabat for higher education programs in the direction of "Russian language" and preparation for admission to Russian universities;
• jointly develop and implement educational programs with leading universities of Turkmenistan in areas of mutual interest.

They also discussed options for training, retraining and advanced training of citizens of Turkmenistan in the field of it and medicine (with a focus on training to work on simulators of the KFU simulation center).

The participants discussed the development of scientific contacts in the following areas: oil and gas technologies and advanced materials, Biomedicine and pharmaceuticals, info communication and space technologies.

Ilshat Gafurov noted that Turkmen students, undergraduates and postgraduates can use the opportunity to study in the areas of "Oil and Gas" and "Geology", whose programs are available in both Russian and English. It is also possible to study in double degree programs with Imperial College London, the French Institute of petroleum, the Freiberg mining Academy and other foreign universities.

"The University annually conducts courses for more than 1000 specialists of the oil and gas industry in Russia and abroad. For the gas and oil industry of Turkmenistan, we can also organize professional development and retraining of specialists, " Gafurov said.

To date, full-time and distance courses are available on the basis of KFU in areas related to the search, development, production, preparation, processing of gas and oil, oil and gas chemistry, Economics of the oil and gas industry. Leading professors, specialists and scientists of KFU, as well as partners from all over the world are engaged in conducting the courses.

Atadurdy Haldurdyevich Bayramov appointed to the post of Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Kazan city) in May of this year.

Recall that on June 16, Atadurdy Bayramov was received by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the government House, on June 23, met with the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and was also received by the Head of the Parliament of Tatarstan.
