The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov; the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov; and horse trainer Kerimguly Berdimuhamedov posed for a commemorative photo following the celebratory horse races. The competitions took place on September 29 within the framework of the opening ceremony of the President of Turkmenistan’s Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex in Ashgabat, TDH reports.

Also featured is a horse named Daghan, which the National Leader of the Turkmen People rode while representing the city of Arkadag in the race. The horse was trained by Kerimguly Berdimuhamedov, who serves in a military unit of the country's Ministry of Defense. Following the competition, the judges declared Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the winner and awarded him the top prize.

Following the horse races, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov descended from the grandstand to the arena and congratulated the National Leader on the victory. Honorary elders also took part in the photo session.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented the horse race's grand prize—a Range Rover Sport—to the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan, specifically to the military unit where Sergeant Kerimguly Berdimuhamedov serves.

The celebratory horse races were organized to mark the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's sacred independence.
