On September 22, the concert "Great Pages of Classical Music," dedicated to the opening of the new concert season of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan, will take place in Ashgabat.

The concert will take place at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater, starting at 19:00.

The musical evening will present works by distinguished composers from various eras, performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan. Rasul Klychev, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor and Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, will conduct the orchestra. The soloist is pianist and Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov.

The concert program featured works of world classical music: Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto, the final scene from Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet “Swan Lake”, the overture to W. A. Mozart’s opera “The Marriage of Figaro”, Bedřich Smetana’s cycle of symphonic poems “Má vlast” (My Homeland), and “Danzón No. 2” by Argentine composer Arturo Márquez.

The evening will mark a brilliant start to the new concert season, offering the audience an opportunity to once again experience masterpieces of the global musical heritage performed by the country’s leading symphony orchestra.
