Ashgabat resident and healthy lifestyle enthusiast Nurmammed Kakabayev starts every morning with an invigorating jog along the green spaces on the banks of the capital's waterway.
According to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the 67-year-old enthusiast is currently actively preparing for a new distance: in honor of Turkmenistan's 35th anniversary of independence, he plans to run 35 kilometers. The capital's "15th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence" Park will be the location for this athletic achievement.
"For me, running is primarily a break from intellectual work, since I work as a correspondent. I've been running for 23 years, although I'm not a professional athlete. "For me, running is a way to challenge myself and discover what my body is capable of. And a light morning jog gives me a boost of energy for the whole day," says N. Kakabayev.
He usually runs 10- and 20-kilometer distances. In April, he took part in the international "Wings of Friendship" race: he easily completed the 10-kilometer distance of the mass race and received a commemorative medal.
According to the enthusiastic runner, regular training has allowed him to completely abandon medication, and every visit to the doctor amazes doctors, as at his age, his heart works like clockwork, the source notes.
