The final round of the "Tatar Kyzy 2026" International Competition will take place on October 7-8 in the “Awaza” National Tourist Zone. This was announced by Almaz Khaliullin, head of the World Congress of Tatars' special projects committee, according to “Tatmedia”.

As a reminder, Turkmenistan won the right to host the final following last season's results: according to the competition's regulations, the host country is determined by the birthplace of the previous year's winner. The title of "Tatar Kyzy - 2025" was won by Turkmen-born Alsu Rafikova, with last season's final taking place in Orenburg.

Preparations for the finals in Turkmenistan are proceeding at a high organizational level. Vasil Shaikhraziev, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, previously visited the country. He held talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Bahar Seyidova and Minister of Culture Gurbanmyrat Myradaliev, and personally inspected the site in the “Awaza” National Tourist Zone where the final events will take place. During the visit, he also met with Nyyazjan Nyyazjanov, the mayor of Turkmenbashy, who confirmed the municipality's readiness to provide the necessary assistance in organizing the event.

The semifinals of the competition began on August 24 in Kazan and will run until August 30. Twenty-six young women representing the Tatar people from various regions of Russia and abroad are participating. Following a week of intellectual and creative challenges, as well as the defense of social and cultural projects, 12 finalists will be selected to continue their competition for the title in Turkmenistan.

According to Almaz Khaliullin, chairman of the competition's board, this year's program includes an archery competition for the first time. He described it as a unique competition that showcases the participants' dexterity, attentiveness, and national spirit.

The "Tatar Kyzy" competition is organized by the World Congress of Tatars and aims to preserve and promote the language, culture, and traditions of the Tatar people. Regional selection rounds are held annually in dozens of regions across Russia and abroad, with thousands of Tatar girls participating in the project.
