Genesis has unveiled the GV90, a luxury electric crossover featuring Rolls-Royce-style doors

On August 20, Hyundai Motor announced the GV90, a new full-size electric SUV under the Genesis brand. The model is built on a platform designed exclusively for electric powertrains, with no provision for an internal combustion engine.

The vehicle measures 5,28 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 3,24 meters. The suspension features air components for a smoother ride, while the rear axle of the base model is equipped with a rear-wheel steering system and a limited-slip differential. Two electric motors deliver a combined output of 657 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, with all-wheel drive. A 123,5 kWh battery provides a range of up to 500 km on a single charge.

The standard GV90 features a three-row, seven-seat interior. At the top of the lineup sits the ultra-luxurious Neolun variant—a four-seater with no B-pillars and rear-hinged doors, similar to those found on Rolls-Royce vehicles.

Inside the Neolun, the rear seats feature ventilation, massage, heating, and power adjustments, as well as a deployable calf rest. The absence of B-pillars is compensated for by reinforced high-strength steel stampings in the rocker panels and door openings, along with an additional concealed structural framework. The rear doors operate on a two-stage principle: they first extend out from the opening and then swing open—the hinge design allows the rear and front doors to be operated independently of one another.

In the four-seat version, the front seats can rotate 180 degrees when the vehicle is stationary, creating a lounge-like interior facing the rear passengers.

The top-tier trim also includes a premium 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a 25-inch head-up display, and a retractable 24,6-inch media screen.

North America and the Middle East are expected to be the primary markets for the Genesis GV90. Pricing for the model has not yet been disclosed.
