Grok Bot: xAI introduced AI agents that work like employees

xAI has launched Grok Bot, a service for AI agents that users can delegate to perform real-world work tasks just like regular employees.

According to the developers, bots receive their own virtual work environment in the cloud and can independently log in to the user's familiar services and applications—including platforms without APIs or MCP protocols. The agents complete tasks and only contact humans when approval is required.

Users can chat with the bot as if it were a colleague, and then continue the conversation on another device—a phone or a computer. The company emphasizes that, unlike other AI tools, Grok Bot doesn't require pre-configured scripts or automations—all you need to do is set the task in the chat.

According to xAI, the service was initially tested internally as a prototype and was widely deployed among employees: bots were used for sales, marketing campaigns, administrative issues, and product bug fixes.

One of the features of the service is the ability to work with several bots simultaneously. Users can build teams of agents led by one coordinating bot and delegate tasks to specialized assistants - for example, working with mail, expenses, recruiting or technical support. Bots are able to exchange information with each other and coordinate in shared chats, independently distributing tasks and turning to humans only in controversial cases.

The developers also highlight the learning-by-example feature: if you show the bot a sequence of actions, it remembers the process as a ready-made script and can subsequently execute it independently, taking into account the user's edits. Over time, xAI claims, agents become more proactive, reminding users of pending tasks and taking on work without further instruction.

Grok Bot is currently in beta testing and is already available to subscribers of the SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium plans on desktop and iOS. A waitlist is open for corporate users.
