Galkan Rahmanov from Turkmenistan took third place in the snatch at the Asian Weightlifting Championships among boys under 20, which is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

He placed third in the snatch in the 85 kg weight class, lifting 155 kg. In the combined event, the Turkmen athlete lifted 342 kg, finishing fifth.

The Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships are taking place in Tashkent, bringing together over 300 athletes from 29 countries across the region. The competition runs until August 14. According to the rules of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), athletes can compete in two age categories simultaneously: Youth (up to 17 years) and Junior (up to 20 years).

The Turkmenistan team is represented at the tournament by 16 athletes – seven boys and nine girls.
