Turkmen mixed martial artist Dovletjan Yagshimuradov successfully weighed in for his upcoming bout with Britain's Simeon Powell. At the official weigh-in on Thursday, Yagshimuradov weighed 93,0 kg, while Powell weighed 92,8 kg, both making the light heavyweight limit.
After the weigh-in, the fighters traditionally took part in a "stare-down"—still part of the standard pre-fight ceremony.
The light heavyweight bout will take place on August 8 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, at Bojangles Coliseum and is included in the main card of the PFL Charlotte tournament.
The fight was previously scheduled for New York, but was postponed due to a decision by the local athletic commission, which prevented Powell from competing due to previous surgery. The opponents have retained their matchup and will meet a week after the original date.
Yagshimuradov has a record of 26 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw, while Powell has 12 wins and 2 losses. The main card is scheduled to air on ESPN.
Mixed martial arts fans and Dovletjan Yagshimuradov's supporters in Turkmenistan will be able to watch the fight live on the Belet platform. The preliminary card is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:00 Ashgabat time, with the main card bout between Yagshimuradov and Powell scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 on August 8.
