The Turkmenistan team won 21 medals – 4 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze – at the 11th WKF Central Asian Karate Championship, which concluded in Aktau, Kazakhstan.

According to the online newspaper "Golden Age," 421 athletes from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the competition. Athletes competed for medals in kata (formal exercises) and kumite (combat) among cadets, juniors, and adults.

On the first day of the tournament, Turkmen athletes, led by coaches Aidyn Charyev, Esenbay Yazmedov, Maksat Atdayev, and Serdar Muhammetnazarov, won four medals (one gold, one silver, and two bronze) in kata. On the second day, they added nine medals in kumite (two gold, three silver, and four bronze). On the final day, the Turkmenistan team won eight more medals: one gold, three silver, and four bronze.

Alymuhammet Kakalyev, an 11th-grade student from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 61, won the 63 kg weight category among boys aged 14-15. Remezan Gurbanov, an 11th-grade student from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 7, won the silver medal in the same category and weight class.

Among juniors aged 16-17, silver medals were awarded to 12th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 16 of the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat Gurbannazar Amandurdyev (up to 55 kg) and 11th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 2 Diana Gorinova (up to 66 kg).

Bronze medals in the 14-15 age category were won by 10th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 27 of the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat Remezan Orazmammedov (up to 57 kg) and 9th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 62 Nurana Amandurdyeva (over 61 kg). Annaoraz Azadov, a 12th-grade student from Ashgabat's Specialized Secondary School No. 135 with Advanced English Studies, took bronze in the 68 kg weight class among juniors aged 16-17. Arslan Babanazarov, a fifth-year student at the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan named after the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy, also won bronze in the 84 kg weight class among adults.

The Turkmenistan team (36 athletes) took fourth place in the overall team standings, ahead of Tajikistan (3 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze) and Uzbekistan (1 gold, 1 silver, 7 bronze). The top three places were taken by Kazakhstan (41-43-72), Iran (8-3-8), and Kyrgyzstan (6-7-11).
