The Ambassador of Turkmenistan and a French equestrian expert discussed cooperation in this area

Yesterday, Ambassador M. Charyev met with Alexandre Gros, national technical expert of the French Equestrian Federation, at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed specialist training, exchange of experience, and prospects for developing Turkmen-French cooperation in horse breeding. Particular attention was paid to the history of the Ahal-Teke breed in France, including the training of the stallion Gendzhim, a gift from Turkmenistan to French President François Mitterrand in 1994.

Participation in the upcoming World Equestrian Championships and the International Ahal-Teke Beauty Contest, which will be held September 4-6 in Kronenberg, Netherlands, was also discussed. Alexandre Gros confirmed his willingness to present a paper on the breed's history in France at a scientific conference.

Possible cooperation between the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding and French specialized institutions, training of trainers, and the use of international experience were discussed separately.

At the end of the meeting, the expert praised Turkmenistan's efforts to preserve and promote the Ahal-Teke breed, the source noted.
