As previously reported, the Turkmenistan national cycling team will hold a joint training camp with representatives of the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club (UAE). Plans for the training camp were presented at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, and the exact dates were announced by the organizers: the training camp will take place from August 4 to 20 in Ashgabat.

The Abu Dhabi delegation will include 28 people: the club director, two coaches, a bicycle mechanic, and 24 athletes. The guests will be accommodated at the “Turgenler” hotel and will train on the roads of the Turkmen capital, as well as on the cycling track of the Olympic Village sports complex.

Road training will take place along Ataturk, Archabil, Kopetdag, and Gokdere gorges. On separate days, athletes will cover distances of 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, and 150 kilometers—a total of approximately 1270 kilometers of road cycling will be covered during the training camp. Six training sessions and three educational seminars are planned at the cycling track. Coordination with relevant government agencies on road safety and first aid is also planned.

Joint training camps of the Abu Dhabi cycling club and the Turkmenistan national team in Ashgabat were also held in 2023–2025, and in 2023 and 2024 Turkmen athletes participated in the Gran Fondo race in Abu Dhabi.

According to the head of the Cycling Federation of Turkmenistan, Muhammedresul Hashojayev, 15 athletes will participate in the August training camp under the guidance of head coach Kakabay Atayev and his assistant Igor Yoldashev.

Following the completion of training camp in Ashgabat, the Turkmenistan national team will participate in the Asian Track Racing Cup, which will be held in Thailand from August 28 to 30. The team's main goal this season remains a successful performance at the Asian Games in Japan, which will be held from September 29 to October 2.
