Representatives of Turkmenistan and the Netherlands discussed preparations for the World Equestrian Championships

During a working visit to The Hague, a Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahalliyev held meetings with Joost Flamand, Director General for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Frans Prinsen, Director of the Royal Cabinet of the Netherlands. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.

During the meetings, the Turkmen side provided detailed information on preparations for the upcoming major international events in the Netherlands dedicated to Ahal-Teke horses and Turkmenistan's national equestrian traditions. Particular attention was paid to the program of events scheduled for September 4-6, 2026, at the Peelbergen Equestrian Center in Limburg.

It was noted that the upcoming event is intended not only to showcase the unique qualities of the world-famous Ahal-Teke horses, but also to become a significant platform for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and the Netherlands.

Tangryguly Atahalliyev invited Dutch representatives to participate in the upcoming events and briefed them on their main goals, format, and international significance. The Dutch representatives welcomed the initiative, expressed their support for the events, and their willingness to facilitate their high-level organization within their mandate.

Particular attention was paid to protocol and organizational issues related to the program of upcoming events, the participation of official representatives and further coordination between the relevant structures of the two countries.

During the talks, an exchange of views on the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Dutch relations also took place. The parties discussed opportunities for further development of political and diplomatic dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian contacts.

The meeting participants emphasized their mutual interest in continuing constructive cooperation and implementing new joint initiatives that will strengthen friendly ties between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the statement noted.
