Ahal-Teke horses from Belgium will compete at the championship in the Netherlands

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium met with Simone Michels, owner of the Belgian breeding stable Stoeterij Ter Bosschen, during a visit to Lummen. The stable currently houses 17 Ahal-Teke horses, making it one of the largest breeding centers for this breed in the Benelux countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed upcoming international events to be held September 4–6, 2026, at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in the Netherlands. The Ahal-Teke World Championship will be held there for the first time outside of Turkmenistan.

Simone Michels accepted the invitation to participate in the championship and confirmed that she will represent her own Ahal-Teke horses from Belgium at the competition.

The Ahal-Teke breed, a national treasure of Turkmenistan, plays a significant role in strengthening cultural and professional ties between countries, uniting horse breeding specialists and enthusiasts around the world.
