A conference marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the significance of the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan was held at the Turkmen Consulate in Astrakhan, the country's Foreign Ministry reported.

The event was attended by Turkmen diplomats, the head and representatives of the Astrakhan regional public organization for the preservation and development of Turkmen culture, as well as students from Turkmenistan studying at universities in the Astrakhan region.

Conference participants highlighted Turkmenistan's key achievements over the 35 years of independence. Particular attention was paid to the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council), a significant political and social event for the country. Representatives of the Astrakhan Turkmen diaspora and students delivered presentations.

The next meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan will be held on September 23 in Ashgabat. It is planned to review the achievements and milestones achieved by the independent state, as well as discuss events commemorating the anniversary of independence and the nomination of compatriots for state awards and honorary titles.
