Today, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malwajerd.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing cooperation, both bilaterally and within authoritative international structures, primarily the UN.
The Iranian side congratulated Turkmenistan on the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the resolution "Year of International Law, 2028", initiated by Turkmenistan, of which Iran acted as a co-author.
Having discussed trade and economic issues and exchanged views on strengthening the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in the consistent development of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, the source notes.
