Google announced that the number of Gemini users has grown to 950 million per month

Google announced that the number of monthly active users of its Gemini chatbot has exceeded 950 million, TechCrunch reported, citing Alphabet's Q2 2026 earnings presentation.

By the end of Q4 2025, this figure stood at over 750 million users. With growth to 950 million, Google's chatbot is approaching the popularity of its competitor, ChatGPT. In June 2026, Reuters, citing data from Sensor Tower, reported that OpenAI's ChatGPT app had surpassed 1 billion monthly active users.

Alphabet, Google's parent company, reported a 24% year-over-year increase in revenue to 119,8 billion USD for the quarter. Google Cloud revenue increased 82% to 24,8 billion USD. The company's net profit was 112,1 billion USD.

The company also raised its capital expenditure forecast for 2026 from 180-190 billion USD to 195-205 billion USD. As CNBC notes, Alphabet is investing heavily in developing its AI infrastructure to meet growing demand.

On July 23, 2026, Alphabet shares fell nearly 7% to 318,76 USD per share.
