Alimov: Uzbekistan is working on introducing electronic visas with Turkmenistan

Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ravshanbek Alimov, reported that the issue of introducing electronic visas for Turkmen citizens is being discussed jointly with the Turkmen side. He made this statement while answering a question from a Turkmenportal correspondent at a briefing on July 23.

According to the ambassador, amendments were made to Turkmenistan's legislation in 2026, creating the legal conditions for introducing such an online service. "Legally, all of this already exists today," he noted, adding that the consular departments of both countries are working on this.

Alimov explained that the launch of the electronic visa system will be carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, which requires the development of appropriate electronic forms. He added that this issue is on the Uzbek side's agenda and is being discussed with Turkmen partners.

The ambassador expressed hope that a decision on this issue will be made in the near future.
