The State Fire Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan has issued a reminder to citizens to strictly adhere to fire safety regulations in residential buildings, administrative buildings, forested parks, and pasture-steppe areas, according to the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan."

The agency noted that in order to prevent emergency situations, it is strictly prohibited to light open fires, discard unextinguished matches and other flammable materials, use spark-producing devices and equipment, or litter the area, including leaving glass containers. It is especially emphasized that leaving children unattended and allowing them to play with fire is unacceptable. Vehicles are also prohibited from entering areas with dry vegetation for maintenance purposes.

The fire department clarified that dead tree branches must be regularly trimmed in forested areas and dry needles accumulated under the canopy must be removed. Specialists authorized to perform welding work must first clear the work area of dry vegetation down to the soil layer, install fire-resistant protective screens around the perimeter, and provide the area with primary fire extinguishing equipment.

To create fire barriers, the agency recommends clearing weeds from between trees and plowing between rows and medians. Tree branches that come into contact with power lines must be pruned, and equipment exhaust systems must be equipped with spark arrestors.

Enterprises and organizations of all types of ownership are required to strictly comply with fire safety regulations when conducting work in natural areas.

The message places special emphasis on home safety during periods of persistent heat. Residents are advised to ensure that gas and electrical appliances are disconnected from the power supply before leaving home or work, and to entrust electrical installation only to qualified professionals. When connecting powerful appliances, a separate power line with fuses must be installed, and the connections must be securely tightened to prevent overheating. The service emphasized that leaving operating gas and electrical equipment unattended is unacceptable.

Matches, lighters and other sources of fire should be stored in places inaccessible to children, who should also not be charged with monitoring operating devices. The department warned that the operation of homemade gas and electrical equipment without proper control leads to incidents with serious consequences.

If a fire or signs of a fire are detected, citizens are advised to remain calm and immediately report it by calling the emergency number 001.
