The President of Turkmenistan laid flowers at the Heroes' Memorial in Tbilisi

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a state visit to Georgia, began the second day of his trip with a visit to Heroes' Square in Tbilisi, where he laid flowers at the memorial, according to the online newspaper "Turkmenistan."

The head of the Turkmen state laid a wreath at the monument, on which are carved the names of the heroes who died for the freedom and unity of Georgia, honoring the memory of those who fought for the Motherland.

The Heroes' Memorial, located in the center of the square of the same name, stands 51 meters tall and consists of 16 marble slabs bearing the names of more than 4 thousand people who gave their lives for the country's freedom over the years. In May 2010, a separate monument was unveiled on the square in memory of those who died for Georgia's independence and state integrity.
