Turkmenistan annually produces over 130 thousand tons of finished textile products, approximately 80% of which are exported. This was stated by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the Georgian-Turkmen business forum in Tbilisi, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

"The volume of finished textile products manufactured in Turkmenistan exceeds 130 thousand tons per year. Approximately 80 percent of the total textile production is exported," the head of state said.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, the country's private sector is also developing effectively – in recent years, extensive production of construction, metal, plastic, cable, and electrical products has been established.

The head of state added that, thanks to investment and private sector development, the agricultural sector is also increasing its export potential. He stated that Turkmenistan has now become a major supplier of organic food products.
