Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a regular meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty.

The meeting addressed issues related to the celebration of the country's 35th anniversary of independence and preparations for the meeting of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan.

Progress was also reviewed regarding the nomination of compatriots who have achieved professional success for state awards and honorary titles.

During the meeting, the floor was given to Deputy Prime Ministers H. Geldymyradov, R. Meredov, T. Atahallyyev, and N. Atagulyyev; the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Ahal velayat, M. Berdiyev; the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense, B. Gundogdyyev; and the Chair of the Mejlis Committee of Turkmenistan on Science, Education, Culture, and Youth Policy, B. Myradova.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of preparing the agenda for the upcoming meeting and the necessary materials regarding media coverage of the activities of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

Following the meeting, documents were adopted regarding the convening of a session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the establishment of an organizing committee to ensure the event is held at a high level, as well as the determination of the meeting date and the approval of the organizing committee's composition, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
