Google has released an update to "Google Images" to mark its 25th anniversary. The image section has been completely redesigned and is now positioned by the company as a "dynamic gallery for finding ideas and inspiration."
Upon entering the section, users will see a dynamic image gallery curated based on their interests and browsing history. Images they like can be added to collections, which appear as a separate tab above the gallery.
As noted by Android Authority, the update is designed to help users find images more quickly without leaving the section. Informer Tech, meanwhile, highlighted the new design's resemblance to the Pinterest feed.
For now, the new feature is available only in the US and in English. To view the updated gallery, the user must sign in to their Google account.
In addition, Google has added an image generation feature to its AI summaries: images will appear when a query is entered into the search bar. The feature is powered by the Nano Banana 2 Lite model and will be available in English in all regions where AI-based image generation is supported.
