Farmers in Balkan velayat plan to harvest 52 400 tons of melons and watermelons from 2620 hectares of fields this season. The harvest is currently proceeding at a brisk pace. Growers in the Bereket, Gyzylarbat, Magtymguly, Etrek, and Esenguly etraps are demonstrating exemplary results, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
Year after year, a bountiful harvest of famous melon varieties—such as "waharman", "gyzyldepe", "gulyabi", and "garrygyz"—is gathered here.
Due to the high demand for melons and gourds, the harvested produce is immediately shipped to markets and retail outlets across the country.
We previously reported on watermelon prices in Turkmenistan.
