Turkmenistan and Indonesia discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation

Turkmenistan and Indonesia discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan announced this following a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov and Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Muhammad Anis Matta, held during the Turkmen delegation's working visit to Jakarta.

The parties noted the significant potential for increasing the volume of mutual trade, intensifying investment cooperation, and implementing joint projects across various economic sectors.

Particular attention was paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. The interlocutors noted the significant role of education, science, culture, sports, and tourism in strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries. In this regard, mutual interest was expressed in expanding direct contacts between higher education institutions, research organizations, and cultural entities of the two countries, as well as in implementing joint educational and cultural projects.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in the continued, steady development of Turkmen-Indonesian cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
