NASA’s Isaacman has arrived at Baikonur to observe the launch of "Soyuz MS-29"

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, becoming the first head of the U.S. space agency to visit the site in the last eight years. Roscosmos announced the visit.

At Baikonur, Isaacman met with Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Bakanov. The talks took place prior to the meeting of the State Commission, which approved the prime and backup crews for the "Soyuz MS-29" crewed mission.

The launch of the "Soyuz-2.1a" launch vehicle carrying the crewed "Soyuz MS-29" spacecraft is scheduled for July 14 at 17:48 Moscow time from launch pad No. 31 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina, along with NASA astronaut Anil Menon, will travel to the International Space Station. The backup crew consists of Dmitry Petelin and Konstantin Borisov, as well as NASA astronaut Deniz Burnham.

As noted by Roscosmos, Jared Isaacman will also be present at the launch of the carrier rocket carrying the crewed "Soyuz MS-29" spacecraft.

Following the crew's confirmation, Anna Kikina stated that the crew wished to express their gratitude to all the specialists who prepared the hardware and the flight, and she confirmed their readiness for launch.

In addition to scientific equipment, the spacecraft will deliver an unusual cargo to the station: a gastronomic set inspired by Russian cuisine.
