The regional stage of the "Gülüň owadan!" ("Beautiful Is Your Pattern!") contest for craftswomen specializing in the creation of felt carpets—"koshmas"—was held in Mary velayat.

According to the rules, participants who had passed the qualifying rounds at the district and city levels competed in crafting felt items of specified dimensions within a set time.

The jury awarded first place to Shemshat Saparova and Maral Yusupurdyeva from the Turkmengala etrap, and second place to Ayna Gurbanova and Yazjahan Allaberdiyeva from the Yoloten etrap. Lachyn Gullanova and Bahar Bulyzhova from the Bayramaly etrap took third place.

The craftswomen were presented with commemorative gifts from the Mary velayat branch of the trade unions.

The national contest "Gülüň owadan!", with stages held across the country, is organized jointly by the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, the National Trade Union Center, and the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.
