During an expanded government meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that diversifying natural gas exports to global markets is a priority task for the country's oil and gas sector, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov reported on the results of efforts undertaken from January to June 2026 to increase oil and gas production and expand supply routes. According to the data, the state concern "Turkmennebit" achieved 108,3% of its oil production target and 104,1% of its oil refining target. Production targets were exceeded by 16% for gasoline, 11,4% for diesel fuel, 18,5% for liquefied gas, and 19,4% for lubricating oils. Natural and associated gas production reached 107,6% of the planned level.

The Head of State instructed the industry leadership to ensure the fulfillment of oil and gas production plans, continue the development of the "Galkynysh" field, and modernize and expand the production capacities of the sector's enterprises.
