Turkmenistan increased gas and oil production in the first half of 2026

Turkmenistan produced 39 147,2 million cubic meters of natural gas and 4 129 800 tons of oil from January to June 2026. This was announced by Dovletgeldi Amanmuhammedov, Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, at an extended government meeting, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Amanmuhammedov reported on the fulfillment of plans by ministries and sectoral agencies for the first half of the current year. According to him, steady growth has been observed in the country's industrial sector. Compared to the same period in 2025, production increased by 0,7% for diesel fuel, 7,2% for lubricating oils, 39,9% for petroleum bitumen, 64,5% for liquefied hydrocarbon gases, and 7,2% for cement. In the food industry, growth was recorded in confectionery (6,9%), sausage products (6,7%), dairy products (4%), and bakery products (1,3%).

Positive trends were also recorded in the transport and communications sector: freight transport across all modes increased by 3,7%, passenger transport by 2%, and the volume of communication services by 15,3%.

In agriculture, during the reporting period, the production of grain increased by 11,6%, vegetables by 12,8%, melons and gourds by 3,3%, potatoes by 4,2%, and milk by 0,3%.

Let us remind that in 2025, total gas production in Turkmenistan exceeded 76.5 billion cubic meters, while oil production surpassed 8,3 million tons.
