Indonesia is switching to palm oil-based biodiesel

Indonesia has become the first country in the world to mandate the use of B50 biodiesel, which contains 50% palm oil, reports news.by.

The country's president described this step as a significant milestone on the path toward energy independence and reduced fuel imports. According to him, the B-50 program represents not only a technological achievement but also proof of Indonesia's ability to effectively utilize its own natural resources.

The country's authorities expect that the switch to the new type of fuel will enable an increase in domestic palm oil processing volumes. In the long term, Indonesia intends to completely phase out fuel imports and meet its needs using its own resources.
