The 9th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan was held in Turkmenistan. The meeting was represented by Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Co-Chair of the Commission, representing Turkmenistan, and Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, who was in the country on a working visit, representing Azerbaijan.

According to Jabbarov's page, during the meeting, the parties discussed the initiative to establish a Turkmen-Azerbaijani Business Council. This platform is seen as an important tool for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, strengthening business ties, and diversifying export opportunities.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed providing for the strengthening of partnership between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in areas such as trade and economics, energy, transport, agriculture, food security, environmental protection, and water management.
